Lisa’s E – News February 2004

Where did my month go? I know it is supposed to be a short one – but this time it flew by!
Hope all is well in your world and that the winter is treating you right – for us that would be some deep snow to
melt into the dry ground and very little wind!

Just a Review
R.W. spent a good portion of January on the road in Elko, Nevada and Enid, Oklahoma. I can’t tell you how
pleased we were with the response to our January e-news with the schedule enclosed. R.W. did 4 nights in
Enid and performed for sold-out audiences at each event! The Cowboy Gospel Service that was held at the
Winter Livestock Facility seated about 330 people. We were told when all was said and done they had over
440 people in that room and they raised over $3,000 towards R.W.’s medical costs.

The event at the Enid Symphony Hall was equally successful with a sold-out crowd 2 weeks in advance. The
concert was moved into the formal Hall which added a lot more seats and they proceeded to sell it out again! I
guess you folks that didn’t get in will have to find a way to have R.W. back in your area again real soon.

From Enid R.W. went to Elko, Nevada for the 20th Anniversary of the Western Folklife Center’s Cowboy Poetry
Festival. He was invited to perform with Ian Tyson on three shows and also joined Michael Martin Murphy for
his Friday night show. If you weren’t able to catch R.W. at any of those don’t worry, we had a film crew there
working on a project that we hope will bring R.W. into your living room in the near future. And yes, for those of
you who were at the silent auction, that very large painting artist Willie Mathews donated is of R.W. and was
done at the same time as the Troubadour album cover.

If you thought about heading to NM for the Valentine’s Day sleigh ride and concert but didn’t – well you missed
out! Missed out on a great steak dinner, a beautiful starry night, and a very personable 2 hour concert of every
R.W. song you could request! For those of us there, it was a night we all will remember. Thanks R.W..

Troubadour
If you haven’t gotten R.W.’s 8th album, Troubadour yet, you are one of the few. We sold out our first pressing
with amazing speed in December and January didn’t slow down at all. The reviews are starting to come out in
the magazines and so far they are glowing! We shipped a small boatload to the radio stations that are known
to play Cowboy Music, so give your local DJ a call and request that favorite song.

I announced last month, Troubadour received nominations for the National Western Heritage Wrangler
Award. We are saddened to announce that Troubadour was not chosen as one of the two awards for 2003.
But my policy has always been, if you have to be beat, get beat by the best. This year’s cowboy music
awards will be given to projects by the late Buck Ramsey and our friend Don Edwards. Congratulations, you
are the best!

As I said before, sales on Troubadour have been going well, the album is available on CD only and our price
is $15.00 per CD plus shipping (and tax if you live in NM). Shipping is $5 for the first 4 items and $1 for each
item after that. For NM residents the sales tax is 5.625% of the total sale. And don’t forget when you order
that we also carry Brenn Hill, Joni Harms, Trudy Fair, Rich O’Brien, and Dan Roberts so give us a call and
stock up on music for the spring.

Then Sings My Soul Tour, and What’s New in Lisa’s World
I can’t tell you all how much we appreciate you fans, friends, and family! Any of you who spend time around us
know that our life is a little like a three ring circus, but it is what we choose and love. Our children are central to
everything we do and although many might think that 5 kids ages 26 to 3 should be plenty, we don’t feel like
God is done with our family yet. Keep us in your prayers in regards to this as we search our hearts and try to
see where God is leading us.

I have so many exciting things to tell you all about but I am out of room! In a nutshell we are finally working on
the second gospel album and hope to have it out this fall. We have hired an additional employee, Hollie, who
will focus on helping me with album projects, some new marketing ideas and other promotional things. We are
looking forward to seeing where this next step will take us, and hope that we can bring Cowboy Music and
Cowboy Gospel to a whole new audience.

Lastly, as I said last month, R.W.’s health is doing great! The support we have received has been
overwhelming, both financially and emotionally. Everyone has done so much and now we want to give back.
One way is by setting aside the majority of April, May and June’s schedule to do Cowboy Gospel Concerts for
groups that normally could not afford to hire R.W. We feel that it is our turn again and we hope to work with
cowboy churches, rural areas, etc… to offer a series of dates (especially here in NM, TX and the Southwest)
were we don’t charge a fee and admission is free to you fans. If you know of a church or group who would be
interested please either let me know or pass along this email to them. We will keep you posted as we put the
dates together.

The Wrap Up
Well, that about sums up what we have loaded up and ready for the spring! Please be sure to check out the
updates on the web-site and pass along the concert dates to your friends who don’t get our email updates!
