KSJD...The Voice of "Four Corners" Colorado


Barbara explains, "Our Cowtrails Show started one year ago with a 15 minute spot and had grown into a two hour live show; Sundays noon until 2:00 PM, playing Western/Cowboy Music and Poetry. We do interviews,contests livestock market reports and things in general about our rural community events.

Southwestern Cowbelles a local CattleWomen's origination were asked to do the market reports and play a little music it went over well here in our Four Corners area. We still do the livestock market report plus interviews, guests and keep music our main theme. Cowbelles and CattleWomen are a Beef promo and educational origination. We try to keep the public informed as to the Quality and Safety of our product."

"Mr. Red Steagall was our first celebrity guest. For me a cowgirl and a true fan of his I was thrilled. Bill Barwick, Dan Shirley"Confederate Railroad", Rockin M Wranglers and Lynn Lewis were more of our guests. "

KSJD is a FM public radio station on the Web at www.ksjd.org Dry Land Community Radio 91.5 Cortez/Towaco 104.1 Mancos 91.1 Pleasant View/Dolores. The DJ's are all volunteers and handle all theor own programming, answer phones, fund raising and anything needed to keep the community Radio alive and growing. Barbara says they hope to be streaming by March. The station manager is Jeff Pope

Currently Vice-President of Colorado CattleWomen, she is mother of two and MawMaw of Amanda and Michael. The daughter of a Kentucky coal miner, Barbara has have lived in Colorado since 1964 enjoying the western way of life. Her partner of the last 24 years, "Frank" and she have been outfitters in the San Juan Mountains, traded horses and cattle and once had a large herd of Watasi cattle. Now semi retired, they still have their horses and run a few cow in Park County. Barbara's says. " I do love to ride my sidesaddle and mules are one of my favorite critters on this earth."
